Job Description

Mercy is seeking a Cert Occupational Therapy Assistant to support patient recovery and independence across diverse clinical settings. Working under the direction of an Occupational Therapist, you'll implement treatment plans, guide therapeutic activities, document progress, and educate patients and families. You'll collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, uphold safety and regulatory standards, and contribute to innovative, compassionate care while advancing your skills through continuous learning in a supportive environment. Responsibilities Implement occupational therapy treatment plans under supervision of an Occupational Therapist Lead therapeutic activities to improve patients' daily living skills and functional independence Accurately document patient treatments, progress, and responses in the EMREducate patients and families on home programs, safety, and adaptive strategies Assist with patient assessments and contribute observations to the care plan Ensure safe use and maintenance of therapeutic equipment and materials Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and physicians to coordinate care Maintain compliance with regulatory, safety, and infection control standards Support discharge planning by providing input on functional status and needs Participate in ongoing education and quality improvement initiatives Required Skills Occupational therapy interventions Patient assessment support Therapeutic exercise techniques ADL training Electronic medical record documentation Care planning support Infection control and safety Patient and family education Rehabilitation equipment use Interdisciplinary team collaboration
