About us Hoofbeats with Heart is one of the leading providers of in-home and on-site therapy throughout Central Arizona. Hoofbeats with Heart has a proven track record of effective therapies based on our amazing team of therapists. Hoofbeats with Heart is the only equine therapy center in Central Arizona to offer all four Equine Assisted Activities and Therapy (EAAT) services recognized by PATH (formerly known as the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association) to individuals living with a variety of physical and emotional disabilities. Services offered at Hoofbeats with Heart are:
- Therapeutic Riding (TR)
- Hippotherapy (HPOT)
- Equine Facilitated Learning (EFL)
- Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy (EFP)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant COTA to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will assess, plan, and implement therapeutic interventions for patients to help them regain or develop the necessary skills for daily living and working. As a COTA you will work with your supervising OT, to deliver comprehensive care tailored to individual needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of rehabilitation techniques, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to improving patients' quality of life.Key Responsibilities:
Implementing treatment plans. A COTA's primary responsibility is to carry out therapeutic interventions designed and evaluated by the supervising OT. Guiding patients through therapeutic activities. This includes leading exercises and activities to improve patients' motor skills, strength, cognitive function, and daily living skills. Educating patients and families. COTAs teach patients and their families how to use adaptive equipment and techniques to increase their independence and carry over therapy goals at home. Documenting progress. COTAs are responsible for accurately recording a patient's progress, response to treatment, and any changes in their condition. They then report this information to the supervising OT. Job Requirements Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program. Valid state licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant COTA Article 9 Certificate Fingerprint Clearance Card CPR/First Aid Certificate Strong clinical knowledge of rehabilitation techniques and therapeutic interventions.
