Key Qualifications:
Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential in Rhode Island Previous experience working in a school environment is valued Ability to effectively communicate with students, teachers, and parents Strong organizational skills and adaptability working with varied age groups Dedication to fostering student growth in partnership with occupational therapists
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide hands-on therapy under the supervision of an occupational therapist, supporting targeted IEP goals for K-12 students Assist in creating and adapting activities that promote students' independence and participation in school life Document student progress, maintain accurate records, and assist with reporting as needed Collaborate with educators, therapists, and family members to develop and implement effective interventions Take part in team meetings to discuss strategies, progress, and individualized planning This contract position offers 15 hours each week, spread across two days, making it an ideal fit for those looking for meaningful part-time work in education.
