Responsibilities of a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA): Provide for the patient's occupational therapy needs under the supervision of an occupational therapist. Report changes in the patient's condition to the occupational therapist and/or the patient's case manager. Teach and instruct patients regarding active and passive exercises. Document all patient care on appropriate forms within agency established time parameters. Submits completed documentation to the Clinical Director within established time parameters. Demonstrate a high degree of commitment to customer service and the provision of quality care. Qualifications for a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA): Licensed as an occupational therapy assistant in Rhode Island. Possesses a minimum of one-year occupational therapy experience.
