Job Description
Step into a dynamic school-based setting as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant providing key support during a maternity leave. This engaging contract opportunity runs from approximately February 16th, 2027, through May 14th, 2027, offering the chance to make a positive impact across several elementary schools in a collaborative educational environment. Work full-time (37.5 hours per week) alongside a supervising Occupational Therapist, focusing on direct treatment of 9-10 students per day—primarily in 30-minute sessions. Multiple schools are accessible within the district, giving you a varied and rewarding daily schedule. Your expertise and compassion will help students thrive by supporting their functional and academic success.
Desired Skills and Experience:
Valid and active COTA license for the state of South Carolina Background working with pediatric populations; school-based experience strongly preferred Ability to collaborate effectively with supervising OTs, educators, and student support teams Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills Adaptability to travel within district school locations as scheduledKey Responsibilities:
Deliver direct therapy services in accordance with each student's individual education plan Record accurate session data and report progress as required Consult with supervising OT for treatment planning, adjustments, and student needs Maintain compliance with school and district documentation procedures Partner with school staff and families to promote student participation and independence across school settings This position provides meaningful, hands-on experience in a supportive educational team.
