Position:
Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) - Per Diem About the Position AVIR at Brownwood is seeking a compassionate and dependable Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team on a per diem basis. The COTA will work closely with residents, families, and the therapy team to provide quality occupational therapy services that promote independence, improve functional abilities, and enhance quality of life. Responsibilities Provide occupational therapy interventions under the direction and supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. Implement individualized treatment plans based on residents' needs and goals. Assist residents with improving activities of daily living, mobility, coordination, strength, and functional independence. Document treatments, progress, and outcomes accurately and in a timely manner. Communicate effectively with residents, families, caregivers, and members of the interdisciplinary team. Monitor resident response to treatment and report changes or concerns to the supervising Occupational Therapist. Maintain compliance with facility policies, professional standards, and applicable state and federal regulations. Promote a safe, supportive, and respectful environment for residents. Qualifications Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) certification. Current Texas licensure or eligibility to practice as a COTA in Texas. Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program. Experience in a skilled nursing, senior living, rehabilitation, or healthcare setting is preferred. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Compassionate, professional, and committed to providing resident-centered care.
