Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), where you will play a vital role in helping patients regain independence and improve their quality of life. In this energetic and rewarding position, you will collaborate closely with licensed occupational therapists to implement personalized treatment plans across diverse settings, including inpatient, outpatient, skilled nursing facilities, and home health environments. Your expertise will support clients of all ages—from pediatrics to geriatrics—especially those facing neurodevelopmental disorders, disabilities, or recovery from injury or illness. Duties Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility to promote patient independence Support the implementation of treatment plans developed by licensed occupational therapists, ensuring goals are met effectively Provide pediatric occupational therapy services for children with developmental delays or autism spectrum disorder, tailoring interventions to individual needs Help patients with acute care needs by facilitating mobility and functional activities in hospital or clinical settings Conduct patient transport within facilities and assist with manual handling to ensure safe movement and positioning Document care activities accurately and maintain detailed care records in compliance with healthcare standards Collaborate seamlessly with healthcare professionals—including physicians, nurses, speech therapists, and caregivers—to optimize patient outcomes Skills Strong knowledge of physiology and anatomy relevant to occupational therapy practices across age groups and conditions Experience working with individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders, disabilities, or in geriatrics enhances your effectiveness in this role Proficiency in medical terminology and familiarity with medical imaging concepts supports accurate documentation and communication Skilled in assisting clients with home health care routines and outpatient therapy sessions within clinics or skilled nursing facilities Excellent caregiver and client communication skills foster trust and promote positive therapeutic relationships Ability to perform treatments involving manual handling techniques safely and effectively in inpatient or outpatient environments Prior experience working with childhood developmental delays or occupational therapy for clients with autism is highly valued This role is designed for motivated professionals eager to bring energy, compassion, and expertise into the lives of those they serve.
