Job Description
Step into a role where your expertise as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) makes a real impact in a school environment. This full-time, on-site contract opportunity is designed for a seasoned COTA with strong school-based or extensive pediatric experience. Work with students ranging from ages 3 to 21, conducting evaluations, providing direct and consultative services, and collaborating within a supportive educational team. You'll be assigned to 6-7 schools located within a targeted zone on the southwest side of Houston, with assignments tailored to minimize commuting. The majority of your caseload will be consultation-based, with approximately 30-40 students receiving direct therapy services—managed on a rotational basis, so no two days are ever quite the same. As a valued specialist, you'll attend ARD meetings, assist an Occupational Therapist, and keep precise records using SHARES and Onward software, as well as maintain an excel log for IEPs.
