Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Truck Driver specializing in Flatbed and Stepdeck hauling! In this vital role, you will operate commercial trucks to transport freight across various routes, ensuring timely and safe deliveries. Your expertise in flatbed and stepdeck configurations will enable you to handle diverse cargo, including oversized and specialty loads. Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers equipped with flatbed or stepdeck configurations for over-the-road (OTR) routes, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations Load, secure, and unload freight using manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo stability and safety during transit Navigate using GPS systems to optimize routes, meet delivery schedules, and adapt to changing traffic conditions Transport hazardous materials (Hazmat) and dangerous goods in accordance with hazardous materials regulations, maintaining safety at all times Handle specialized cargo such as refrigerated trailers, tanker loads, or automobile transportation when required Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer to identify maintenance needs or safety issues Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route updates, delivery status, and any incidents encountered on the road Load and unload freight at various locations, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to logistics cargo handling procedures Experience Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a focus on flatbed or stepdeck loads Familiarity with trucking equipment including tractor-trailers Knowledge of route driving best practices for long-haul or regional deliveries Experience with truck loading and unloading, securing cargo, and manual handling of freight Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with endorsements relevant to flatbed/stepdeck operations, TWIC is an advantage Strong understanding of FMCSA regulations, hazard materials regulations, DOT compliance, and safety protocols for dangerous goods Prior delivery driving experience involving freight transportation across diverse environments Embark on a rewarding career where your driving expertise makes a real impact!
