Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will assist licensed occupational therapists in delivering high-quality therapy services to our skilled nursing facilities. Your expertise will help clients regain independence, improve daily functioning, and enhance their overall quality of life. Responsibilities Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility to support patient independence and comfort Implement treatment plans designed by licensed occupational therapists, ensuring adherence to prescribed goals and protocols Conduct patient assessments and document care activities accurately in compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals including physicians, physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, and caregivers to optimize patient outcomes Facilitate patient transport within facilities or to external appointments while ensuring safety through manual handling techniques Provide care documentation that reflects progress, treatment responses, and any changes in patient condition Qualifications Valid certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) from an accredited program Prior experience working in acute care settings, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics or home health environments is highly preferred Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology and treatment plan implementation Experience working with individuals with disabilities and geriatrics is desirable Excellent communication skills for effective caregiver and client interactions Ability to perform manual handling safely and efficiently during patient care activities Knowledge of care documentation standards and compliance requirements Join our team to deliver compassionate occupational therapy services that truly transform lives!
