A Job Description:
Old Dominion University (ODU) invites applications for two Career Track Faculty (non-tenure track) positions in the Doctor of Occupational Therapy program, which is housed within the School of Rehabilitation Sciences in the Ellmer College of Health Sciences, with appointments effective July 25, 2027. These are annual, 10-month full-time faculty positions, with additional opportunities for paid summer course instruction. Applicants will have teaching, scholarship, and service responsibilities in content areas that match the applicant's clinical expertise, scholarship interests (if applicable), and the needs of the program. In conjunction with the Program Director and other faculty, they will assist with curricular design and content. They will support admissions and the strategic planning and implementation of the program and School. Other responsibilities include advising and mentoring graduate students and taking an active role in school and university service and professional development.
Position Type:
FullTime Minimum required education and/or special licenses, registrations, trainings, or certifications: Earned PhD, OTD, or other relevant doctoral degree from an accredited institution. Initial certification with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). Licensed or eligible for licensure as an occupational therapist in Virginia. Minimum required level and type of experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities: Candidates must have contemporary expertise in the field of occupational therapy and previous clinical practice as an Occupational Therapist.
Preferred Qualifications:
Active member of the American Occupational Therapy Association. Familiarity with ACOTE accreditation standards. Experience with occupational therapy education, curriculum design, and program evaluation. Experience teaching entry-level occupational therapy content. Experience mentoring graduate student research or capstone projects.
