Job Description
Job Summary Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), where you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for patients across diverse settings. In this energetic and rewarding position, you will assist licensed occupational therapists in delivering personalized therapy services, focusing on improving clients' functional independence and overall well-being. Your expertise will support patients of all ages, from pediatrics to geriatrics, helping them overcome challenges related to disabilities, neurodevelopmental delays, or recovery from injury or illness. Responsibilities Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote patient independence Implement treatment plans designed by licensed occupational therapists, ensuring adherence to prescribed goals and protocols Support pediatric occupational therapy sessions, including working with children with autism and childhood developmental delays Facilitate care documentation accurately and thoroughly to ensure compliance with healthcare standards and legal requirements Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals—including physicians, physical therapists, and caregivers—to optimize patient outcomes Assist with patient transport within healthcare facilities or home health settings, ensuring safety during movement and transfers Apply manual handling techniques safely when supporting patients during therapy exercises or mobility activities Engage in inpatient, outpatient, skilled nursing facility, or clinic environments to deliver consistent, high-quality care Experience Demonstrated experience working with individuals with disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders, including pediatric populations and geriatrics Hands-on experience in outpatient therapy clinics or home health environments preferred Knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology to accurately interpret care plans and documentation Proven ability to communicate effectively with clients and caregivers to foster understanding and cooperation Experience working within skilled nursing facilities or inpatient units contributing to comprehensive patient care plans Join us in delivering compassionate occupational therapy that transforms lives!
