Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Bayshore Nursing & Rehab Glendale, WI Job Details Full-time 1 day ago Qualifications Occupational Therapy Assistant License Full Job Description We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA ) to join our rehabilitation team in Fort Atkinson, WI. Under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT), the COTA will assist in providing occupational therapy treatments designed to help residents achieve greater independence in daily living activities and improve their quality of life.
Responsibilities:
Carry out occupational therapy treatment plans as directed by the supervising Occupational Therapist. Assist residents with therapeutic exercises and activities to improve strength, coordination, and functional independence. Train residents in the use of adaptive equipment and techniques for activities of daily living (ADLs), such as dressing, grooming, and feeding. Monitor residents' progress and communicate changes or concerns to the Occupational Therapist. Accurately document treatments, resident responses, and progress notes in medical records. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to support individualized care goals. Educate residents, families, and caregivers on therapy techniques that can be continued outside of therapy sessions. Maintain a safe and clean therapy environment and ensure proper care of equipment. Adhere to all applicable federal, state, and facility regulations, policies, and standards of care.
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program. Current licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in the state of Wisconsin. Prior experience in a skilled nursing facility or similar healthcare setting preferred, but not required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and encourage residents. Compassionate, patient, and resident-focused approach to care. Ability to work both independently and as part of a healthcare team.
