Job Description

Job Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Optometric Assistant, where your enthusiasm and dedication will directly enhance patient care and streamline clinical operations. In this vital role, you will support optometrists by managing patient intake, assisting during eye examinations, and ensuring the smooth flow of daily clinic activities. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will help create a welcoming environment for patients while maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and professionalism. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in ophthalmology and medical office procedures within a supportive, patient-centered setting. Duties Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with the intake process using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems Prepare and operate ophthalmic diagnostic equipment including tonometers for intraocular pressure measurement and A-scan devices for axial length measurements Assist with ophthalmic examinations by setting up equipment, maintaining aseptic techniques, and ensuring patient comfort throughout procedures Manage patient records with strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies Support ophthalmologists during eye refraction tests, diagnostic imaging, and other clinical assessments Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment, including sterilizing tools and managing medical supplies for ophthalmology procedures Provide exceptional patient service by answering questions, explaining procedures clearly, and ensuring a positive experience from check-in to discharge Qualifications Prior experience in medical office settings or optometry clinics is highly preferred Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or similar platforms for managing electronic health records Ability to perform direct patient care with compassion, professionalism, and attention to detail Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality at all times Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, team members, and healthcare providers Experience with retail sales or front desk responsibilities is a plus for handling patient check-in/out processes efficiently Join us in making a difference by supporting eye health through compassionate care and technical expertise. Pay:
From $18.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
