Job Description

Job Summary Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Optometric Technician, where your enthusiasm for patient care and eye health will make a meaningful difference. In this vital role, you will assist the optometrist in providing exceptional eye care services, ensuring smooth clinic operations, and creating a welcoming environment for patients. Your technical skills and compassionate approach will help patients feel comfortable and confident throughout their visit. This paid position offers a fantastic opportunity to grow your expertise in optometry and medical office procedures while making a positive impact on patients' vision health. Hours for this position will be Mondays, Wednesdays, & Thursdays 8:00-5:00 with the potential to expand hours to include Tuesdays & Fridays in the future. Responsibilities Prepare patients for exams by performing preliminary tests including recording of patient history, visual acuity assessments, intraocular pressure measurements, etc. Prepare and maintain examination rooms, instruments, and equipment according to safety and hygiene standards. Assist optometrist with specialized diagnostic tests, such as Optical Coherence Tomography or visual field testing. Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems), ensuring all patient data is accurate, complete, and confidential in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Maintain a clean and organized clinic environment, adhering to safety protocols related to optometry procedures and medical records management. Collaborate with the team to ensure a smooth and efficient patient experience. Qualifications Previous experience in a medical office environment or optometry clinic is preferred. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Officemate or related programs. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations ensures patient privacy and data security are maintained at all times. Experience with medical coding and billing processes can be beneficial but is not mandatory; training will be provided if needed. Retail sales experience combined with front desk skills helps deliver excellent customer service while managing clinic operations efficiently. A background in pediatrics or experience working with diverse patient populations adds value to your ability to serve all age groups effectively. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities.
Pay:
From $15.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 24.0 per week
