Job Description
Join Our Team We are looking for a detail-oriented, motivated Medical Scribe to join our ophthalmology practice. This position is ideal for someone interested in gaining hands-on clinical experience while working alongside an ophthalmologist in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment. The primary responsibility of this role is medical scribing—accurately documenting patient encounters in real time to support efficient, high-quality patient care. As you become proficient in the role, you'll have the opportunity to receive additional training and advance into an Ophthalmic Technician position, learning diagnostic testing and direct patient care skills. ResponsibilitiesMedical Scribe (Primary Role) Accompany the physician during patient visits and accurately document medical histories, examinations, diagnoses, procedures, and treatment plans in the electronic medical record (EMR). Record patient information in real time while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Ensure charts are complete and ready for physician review. Assist with documenting referrals, prescriptions, imaging, and follow-up plans. Maintain strict patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance. Help keep clinic workflow efficient by preparing charts and coordinating documentation needs. Patient Care Support Greet and escort patients to exam rooms. Obtain and document medical histories and chief complaints. Assist patients with questions and provide pre-exam instructions. Coordinate with providers and staff to ensure a smooth patient experience.
