The minimum hourly rate for this position starts at $19.00/hr + depending on experience and certifications. The Ophthalmic Technician assists the doctors and staff with patient care through performing accurate technical work-ups and special testing including manual refractions, lensometry, keratometry, tonometry, visual fields, optical coherence tomography, muscle testing, fundus photos, slit lamp exams, pupil exams, topography, etc. Scribing for the doctors, assisting with surgical procedures, processing pharmacy requests, providing patient correspondence and feedback as well as answering phones and greeting all patients and guests. Scheduling follow up appointments via our Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system and patient portal kiosk as well as assisting with patient check-in an check-out as needed. Updates patient records, responds to voicemail and email requests and assists with a variety of tasks in the clinic and surgery center.
