As an optometric technician, you'll be helping us in our mission by gathering medical information from the patient, performing preliminary testing before the patient sees the doctor and your expertise will help ensure smooth clinic operations while providing compassionate care to patients of all ages. We are looking for a part-time technician to work only Mondays. Responsibilities Conduct patient intake by collecting comprehensive medical histories and verifying insurance information, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Performing diagnostic testing including autorefraction, tonometry, etc Inputting testing results into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) Educate patients on retinal imaging ensuring clear understanding through effective communication. Manage medical records with precision, including assisting with insurance verification and maintaining organized documentation for compliance. Support front desk operations by scheduling appointments, handling patient inquiries, and collecting copays. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Friendly and positive demeanor. No experience required. Familiarity with EMR systems is a plus. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, including pediatrics.
