Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and efficiently manage patient intake processes, including collecting medical histories and updating records Assist with pretesting such as auto refraction, fundus photos, OCT, corneal topography, and IOP to support accurate diagnoses Support optometrists during eye exams by handling optical equipment and providing patient education on procedures and products Manage electronic medical records (EMR) systems like Crystal or similar platforms to document patient information accurately and securely Perform administrative duties at the front desk, including scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage in compliance with HIPAA regulations, and managing patient flow Support retail sales of eyewear and contact lenses by providing knowledgeable recommendations based on patient needs and retail math principles Requirements Prior experience in medical office settings, ophthalmology clinics, or optical practices is highly preferred Familiarity with EMR systems such as Crystal or other healthcare software platforms for documentation purposes Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times Excellent communication skills for engaging with patients across diverse age groups, including pediatrics Retail sales experience combined with a passion for customer service to enhance patient satisfaction and product recommendations Join us in making a difference through compassionate care and professional excellence!
