Job Description
Job Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Optician/Optical Assistant, where you'll play a vital role in delivering exceptional eye care and optical services. This energetic position combines technical expertise with compassionate customer interaction, ensuring patients receive personalized assistance in selecting eyewear, understanding their vision needs, and maintaining optimal eye health. You'll be part of a supportive , patient-focused team that values professionalism, kindness and efficiency. This is a great role for someone who enjoys helping people and wants to grow in the optical field. Optical experience is recommended but not required - we are happy to train the right person. Duties Answering incoming phone calls, assist patients with questions and provide excellent customer service Book and manage patient appointments using our office scheduling system Verify and bill vision insurance for exams, glasses and contact lenses Assist patients in selecting eyeglasses and contact lenses by providing expert advice on frame styles and lens options Take precise measurements of patients' eyes and facial features to ensure proper fit of eyewear Order glasses, lenses and contact lenses, track orders and notify patient's when items arrive Assist with general administrative tasks to keep the office running smoothly Skills Strong communication and customer-service skills Comfortable learning new systems and multi tasking Excellent retail sales skills combined with retail math proficiency to recommend suitable eyewear solutions effectively Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times Proven ability to work efficiently within a team environment while providing outstanding customer service in a retail or clinical setting Positive attitude and willingness to learn
