Ramin Tayani MD Inc (Tayani Institute) is seeking a Back Office Medical Tech with ophthalmology experience to support our advanced eye care and facial aesthetics practice. In this role, you will prepare exam rooms, obtain patient histories, perform ophthalmic diagnostics (visual acuity, tonometry, imaging), assist with minor procedures, and maintain accurate electronic medical records. You'll coordinate patient flow, provide pre- and post-procedure instructions, and ensure strict infection control. Collaborate closely with physicians and clinical staff in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment with opportunities for training and growth. Responsibilities Prepare exam rooms and ensure equipment is ready for ophthalmic exams and procedures Obtain patient histories, chief complaints, and perform basic clinical assessments Conduct ophthalmic diagnostic tests such as visual acuity, tonometry, and imaging Assist ophthalmologists with minor in-office procedures and treatments Document encounters accurately in the EMR and maintain organized patient records Manage patient flow, scheduling support, and coordinate pre-/post-visit instructions Maintain infection control standards and clean, stocked clinical areas Communicate clearly with patients about tests, procedures, and follow-up care Collaborate with physicians and staff to improve clinic efficiency and patient experience Participate in ongoing training to stay current with ophthalmic techniques and technology Required Skills Ophthalmic diagnostics Visual acuity testing Tonometry Electronic Medical Records (EMR) Ophthalmic imaging (OCT, fundus) Infection control procedures Patient triage and history taking Assisting minor ophthalmic procedures Medical terminology (ophthalmology) HIPAA compliance
