Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will support ophthalmologists by providing high-quality patient care, performing diagnostic tests, and assisting with clinical procedures. Your expertise will help ensure smooth clinic operations while delivering an outstanding patient experience. Duties Assist with patient intake, including gathering medical history and verifying insurance information Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and visual acuity to support accurate diagnosis Conduct preliminary eye assessments using optical equipment and perform basic diagnostic tests Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality at all times Prepare and maintain accurate medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Epic Apply aseptic techniques during clinical procedures to prevent infection and ensure safety Support front desk operations, including scheduling appointments and managing patient flow Requirements Proven experience in ophthalmology or medical office settings, with strong clinic experience preferred Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to eye health and ophthalmology Familiarity with optical equipment, medical coding, billing procedures, and EMR systems such as Epic Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately Ability to perform vital signs measurement accurately and follow aseptic techniques diligently Strong organizational skills in managing medical records, intake processes, and front desk duties Retail sales experience or retail math skills are a plus for supporting product recommendations and sales initiatives Knowledge of pediatric ophthalmology is advantageous but not required Join us in making a difference by providing exceptional eye care in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.
