In this role, you will support optometrists in providing high-quality patient care by performing various clinical and administrative tasks. Your expertise will help ensure that patients receive the best possible eye care experience, from initial assessments to follow-up visits. Responsibilities Assist optometrists during eye examinations by preparing patients and equipment. Conduct preliminary tests including visual acuity, color vision, and depth perception assessments. Maintain accurate patient records and update medical histories in the electronic health record system. Educate patients on proper contact lens care and eyewear options. Ensure a clean and organized work environment, adhering to aseptic techniques. Manage appointment scheduling and follow-up calls for patient care. Collaborate with team members to enhance patient flow and satisfaction. Provide support in medical coding for insurance claims as necessary. Skills Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology related to the eye and vision. Familiarity with ophthalmology practices and procedures. Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach to service. Proficient in using electronic health record systems, preferably Revolution EHR. Ability to apply retail math concepts for inventory management and sales support. Strong attention to detail with effective communication skills.
