COA or COT certification preferred with at least 1 year of ophthalmic experience, but also willing to train the right person. Punctuality, ability to multitask, strong organizational skills, ability to work in a team environment is desired. We are fully paperless, with both electronic medical records and scheduling/billing systems. Must have excellent computer skills. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Obtaining complete patient medical histories Performing visual acuity testing, OCT, visual field testing, A-scan/biometry, topography, fundus photos, etc. Sterilizing and maintaining equipment & rooms using proper sterile techniques Assisting in minor surgery Surgery scheduling Maintaining accurate patient information in the EMR Maintaining patient confidentiality Additional responsibilities may include: Returning phone calls to patients and pharmacies Answering and managing phones Scheduling appointments Collecting and verifying insurance information Registering and checking-in patients Collecting payments
