Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting ophthalmologist in providing quality eye care to our patients. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting various diagnostic tests, preparing patients for examinations, and assisting with minor surgical procedures. Duties:
  • Perform preliminary patient screenings, including patient testing and documenting medical history
  • Conduct diagnostic tests such as visual acuity, tonometry, OCT, Biometry, and fundus photos.
  • Assist ophthalmologist during examinations and minor surgical procedures
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
  • Ensure adherence to aseptic techniques during procedures
  • Clean and maintain ophthalmic equipment and instruments
Requirements:
  • Previous experience as an Ophthalmic Technician or similar role preferred
  • Knowledge of optical systems and Nextech EHR a plus
  • Strong understanding of ophthalmology procedures and physiology
  • Excellent patient care skills with the ability to provide compassionate and attentive service
  • Proficient in medical records management and medical billing processes
  • Familiarity with aseptic technique and infection control protocols
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Spanish language skills a plus.
