Job Description
EXPERIENCED OPHTHALMIC TECHNICIAN / ASSISTANT
Established Ophthalmology Practice | Conejo Valley We are looking for an experienced Ophthalmic Technician or Ophthalmic Assistant to work closely with one of our physicians in our established ophthalmology practice. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in an ophthalmology or optometry practice. Certification is not required. We are looking for a friendly, intelligent, dependable, and hardworking individual who enjoys helping people, takes pride in their work, and is interested in continuing to learn and develop their clinical skills.Responsibilities include:
Obtaining patient histories and preparing patients for examination Performing ophthalmic diagnostic testing and imaging Assisting the physician with patient examinations and minor office procedures Performing ancillary ophthalmic treatments Accurately documenting patient information in the electronic medical record Becoming proficient with a variety of ophthalmic diagnostic equipment Working with a significant number of pediatric patients, so comfort interacting with children and their parents is importantQualifications:
Previous experience in an ophthalmology or optometry practice required Familiarity with ophthalmic diagnostic testing Previous electronic medical record experience Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Professional, compassionate, and patient-focused Comfortable working as part of a team while also taking initiative Ability to refract is a major plus, but is not required COA/COT certification is welcome but not requiredWhat We Offer:
