Unifeye Vision Partners is currently hiring for a Ophthalmic Technician , Westlake Village, CA SUMMARY The Ophthalmic Technician assists ophthalmologists in delivering high-quality patient care by performing diagnostic testing, preparing patients for examinations and procedures, documenting clinical encounters, and maintaining clinical equipment and supplies. This role plays a critical part in ensuring efficient patient flow, accurate documentation, and compliance with clinical standards. This role requires travel too all clinic locations across Ventura County and in Westlake Village. Clinic locations include, Westlake Village, Thousand Oaks, Ventura, Camarillo, Oxnard, and Simi Valley, ESSENTIAL

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Greet patients and establish rapport while initiating patient assessments and documenting medical history and ocular findings. Conduct pre-exam testing including visual acuity, visual fields, extraocular muscle function, pupillary assessments, tonometry, and dilation, and any other requested patient services. Perform specialized diagnostic testing including keratometry, A/B scans, OCT, ophthalmic photography, and optical biometry. Perform lensometry, manifest refraction, and mono-vision trials. Administer topical ophthalmic medications under physician direction. Assist with in-office procedures including patient preparation, informed consent, setup, and cleanup. Act as a scribe during patient exams, accurately documenting encounters in the electronic health record. Manage prescription refill requests and ensure completion within 24 hours as authorized. Educate patients on medication administration and pre- and post-operative instructions. Maintain patient flow and assist physicians in managing daily clinic schedules. Monitor and document medical refrigerator temperatures daily. Maintain inventory, monitor expiration dates, and order diagnostic medications and supplies. Prepare instruments for sterile processing and coordinate repairs or replacements as needed. Open and close exam lanes daily and ensure proper cleaning and equipment shutdown procedures. Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms throughout the day. Comply with all safety, infection control, HIPAA, OSHA, and regulatory requirements. Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent required Prior experience as an Ophthalmic Technician required Experience with ophthalmic diagnostic testing and procedures required

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

COA or COT certification preferred

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

This position has no supervisory responsibility.
