The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology, as well as experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems. Candidates with ophthalmology experience will be highly regarded. Duties Assist healthcare providers in delivering exceptional patient care by performing intake assessments and recording vital signs. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations while managing patient information and medical records. Initial work up including, preparing rooms, gathering ocular/medical history Administer near and distance visual acuity's tests, color vision, tonometry, check pupils, dilate patients, auto-refract. Maintain accurate documentation within EMR systems , ensuring all patient interactions and treatments are recorded. Participate in medical billing and coding processes to ensure accurate claims submission. Requirements Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred, with a strong understanding of medical terminology and anatomy. Knowledge of physiology and clinical procedures relevant to patient care. Familiarity with EMR systems Ability to perform basic clinical tasks such as taking vital signs and conducting patient intakes. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and team members. A commitment to providing compassionate care while adhering to safety protocols and aseptic techniques.
