This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in both optical and clinical settings. While your primary responsibility will be assisting patients with their eyewear needs, you'll also help support our doctors, technicians, and front office team as needed. Because we are a growing practice, our team members wear many hats. The ideal candidate enjoys variety, is flexible, and is willing to assist in optical, clinical, and front desk responsibilities to ensure an outstanding patient experience. Why Join Us? ResponsibilitiesOptical Assist patients in selecting frames and lenses that best meet their visual and lifestyle needs Take accurate optical measurements (PDs, seg heights, OC heights, etc.) Recommend appropriate lens designs, coatings, and materials Adjust, repair, and dispense eyewear Verify prescriptions and inspect finished eyewear for accuracy Educate patients on lens options, warranties, and proper eyewear care Maintain attractive frame displays and assist with inventory management and merchandising Help develop efficient optical workflows and contribute ideas to improve the patient experience Clinical & Administrative Support Assist with patient workups and pre-testing Obtain patient medical and ocular histories Perform diagnostic testing as needed Prepare patients for examination Assist doctors and fellow team members throughout the day Maintain exam rooms and equipment Help ensure a smooth and positive patient experience from check-in through checkout Provide front desk support as needed, including greeting patients, answering phones, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and assisting with patient check-in/check-out Work collaboratively across departments to help the practice run efficiently and deliver exceptional patient care Qualifications Previous optician experience preferred ABO certification is preferred but not required Previous optometric technician experience is preferred; we are willing to train the right candidate Excellent communication and customer service skills Strong organizational skills with attention to detail Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Comfortable learning new technology and electronic medical record systems Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a collaborative team What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who: Loves helping people and providing exceptional patient care Enjoys both fashion and healthcare Takes pride in accuracy and attention to detail Works well independently and as part of a team Is dependable, professional, and eager to learn Is excited to help build and grow a newly established optical department Enjoys contributing ideas and helping improve processes Is adaptable and willing to jump in wherever help is needed Wants to make a lasting impact on a growing, patient-centered practice Benefits Competitive pay based on experience Paid time off Employee discounts on eyewear Opportunities for continuing education and professional development Supportive, team-oriented work environment Opportunity to grow alongside our expanding optical department If you're looking for a position where every day is different, your ideas are valued, and you can make a real impact on patients' lives while helping build something special, we'd love to hear from you.
