Full-time We are a warm, friendly ophthalmology practice seeking a reliable, motivated, and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician who is also willing to be cross-trained in front desk responsibilities . Our practice is a close-knit, happy, supportive, and welcoming place to work. We are looking for someone who takes pride in patient care, communicates well, and wants to be a highly valued member of the team. This position plays an important role in helping ensure smooth clinic operations and an excellent patient experience from start to finish. The ideal candidate should have experience with ophthalmic testing and be comfortable working directly with patients in a clinical setting.
Responsibilities Clinical responsibilities include:
Checking visual acuity Measuring intraocular pressure using a Tono-Pen Performing OCT testing Performing visual field testing Performing corneal topography Assisting the physician with patient flow and exam preparation Accurately documenting patient information in the medical record Helping maintain efficient and smooth clinic operations Maintaining cleanliness and organization of exam rooms and testing areas Front desk and administrative responsibilities may include: Greeting patients in a professional, friendly, and welcoming manner Answering phones Scheduling appointments Checking patients in and out Assisting with patient forms and general office flow Supporting the front desk team as needed Additional expectations: Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality at all times Communicate respectfully and professionally with patients and coworkers Help maintain a clean, organized, and efficient office environment Be punctual, dependable, and willing to learn Work well as part of a close-knit and supportive team Qualifications Prior ophthalmology or optometry technician experience preferred Experience checking vision and measuring IOP required Familiarity with OCT, visual fields, and topography strongly preferred Strong communication and patient service skills Comfortable using computers and electronic medical records Ability to multitask in a busy clinical environment Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset Work Environment We value kindness, professionalism, teamwork, and excellent patient care.
