Florida , Kissimmee Job Description My client is looking for an experienced Ophthalmic Technician! This practice is an MD/OD practice with multiple locations. Our ideal candidate is already a certified ophthalmic assistant or technician. Although we are open to speaking with candidates with at least 1 year of Eye Care experience.
Responsibilities:
Take medical histories and verify information Perform visual function and diagnostic tests, such as applanation tonometry, refraction, and retinoscopy Inform the ophthalmologist about changes to a patient's visual acuity and other vision issues Dilate eyes to prepare patients for their eye exam Explain how to properly use eye drops or other medications Explain how to properly use contact lenses Help with inventory management
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED certificate Completion of an ophthalmic assistant or technician program strongly preferred (COA or COT) Experience working as an ophthalmic technician or scribe is preferred Experience with EMR tools a plus Proficient with MS Office tools (outlook, excel, word)
