Job Description

Ophthalmic Technician - Job Description We're looking for a friendly, detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our team! In this role, you'll support our physicians and help provide excellent eye care to our patients. Our office is patient centered and staff enjoys working with each other. Spanish and COA/COT are a plus! You must be able to manually refract patients. Salary is competitive and dependent on experience. What You'll Do Greet and prepare patients for their visit, including gathering medical history, verifying information, and performing preliminary exams. Conduct a variety of diagnostic tests such as manual refraction, visual fields, biometry (IOL Master), pachymetry, color testing, PAM, and contact lens evaluations. Assist physicians during exams, minor procedures, and laser treatments. Administer eye drops and medications as directed. Accurately record patient information in the EMR and help ensure medical records remain confidential and secure. Prepare exam and procedure rooms, maintain sterile technique, and sterilize instruments. Maintain equipment by following operating procedures, performing basic troubleshooting, and reporting any issues. Manage exam room and minor OR inventory, keeping supplies stocked to physician preference. Process prescription refill requests and help educate patients on drops, medications, contact lenses, surgeries, and imaging. Support smooth clinic flow by completing patient work-ups efficiently while providing excellent customer service. Travel to other Garay Eye Care & Surgery Center locations as needed.
