In this role, you will assist ophthalmologists in documenting, diagnosing, and treating eye conditions, perform specialized eye tests, and help ensure seamless clinic operations. Duties Conduct comprehensive eye examinations, including visual acuity tests, refraction, and intraocular pressure measurements Assist ophthalmologists during patient evaluations and procedures by preparing equipment and providing direct support to patients and physicians Operate and maintain ophthalmic diagnostic devices such as slit lamps, phoropters, and various imaging tools Manage medical records accurately within electronic medical record (EMR) systems while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations Educate patients on eye health, treatment plans, preoperative and postoperative care instructions, or medications Support clinic operations by conducting patient work ups and communicating with physicians, peers, and patients Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment and ensure patient concerns are addressed Skills Knowledge of ophthalmology / optometry terminology, anatomy, and conditions is a plus but not a prerequisite for employment Experience with medical office operations, EMR systems, and medical records documentation is helpful Ability to work within HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organization skills, and professional demeanor Time management skills and ability to multitask to ensure efficient workflow We are willing to teach if you are willing to learn!
