This Saturday (possibly some weekdays) position is ideal for someone with strong refraction skills, a friendly approach, and attention to detail. Responsibilities Perform subjective refractions using a phoropter for the optometrist to review and finalize. Obtain patient histories, chief complaints, visual acuities, and other preliminary testing. Operate pretesting equipment and capture Optos retinal images. Document patient histories and testing results accurately in the electronic health record. Keep patients moving smoothly through their visits and communicate findings to the doctor. Prepare and clean exam rooms and equipment, and assist with other technician duties as needed. Qualifications Previous experience performing subjective refractions is required; autorefraction or pretesting experience alone is insufficient. Experience working in an optometry or ophthalmology office. Strong communication, patient care, and organizational skills. Ability to work efficiently while maintaining accuracy.
