Responsibilities Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with the intake process to ensure accurate medical records and appointment details Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and oxygen saturation to support clinical assessments Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort throughout their visit Assist ophthalmologists and optometrists during eye exams by performing tests like visual acuity assessments and autorefractor measurements Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality and privacy at all times Support clinic operations by managing medical records, updating electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Epic or other EMR platforms, and ensuring documentation accuracy Practice aseptic techniques during procedures to prevent infection and maintain a sterile environment Handle front desk responsibilities including scheduling appointments, answering patient inquiries, and processing billing or insurance information using medical coding systems Skills Strong knowledge of patient care protocols, medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and ophthalmology fundamentals Experience with optical equipment, EMR systems (such as Epic), and medical billing/coding processes Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, including pediatrics, and team members Ability to perform vital signs measurement accurately and follow aseptic techniques diligently Retail sales experience is a plus for assisting with eyewear selections and understanding retail math principles Familiarity with front desk operations, medical records management, and HIPAA compliance standards Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinic environment while maintaining attention to detail This role is perfect for motivated individuals eager to grow their career in eye care or healthcare administration.
