Optometric technician / pre-testing

Optometric Technician / Pre-tester Busy Optometric practice in Elgin, IL. We are looking for someone who is comfortable working with all ages, from infants to elderly people, as well as all personality types. Must be able to work quickly and efficiently in high pressure situations. Experience with electronic health records is beneficial. Saturday hours. Bi-lingual in Spanish is required. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• performing preliminary testing on patients (visual acuity, visual fields, fundus photography, OCT etc.)
• entering patient information into electronic health record
• managing patient recall system
• utilizing electronic health records to run patient reports for patient management / accounting / marketing
• maintaining optometric instruments (understanding how instrument functions, updating programs, working with IT on technical problems)
