Job Description

Westchester Eye Surgeons has been treating patients for over 30 years. We are seeking a dependable, energetic, full-time ophthalmic technician to join our team. Our practice consists of one full-time ophthalmologist/surgeon and a part-time optometrist. The workday is typically 8:00 am to 4:30pm. MUST work Saturday mornings for 2 hours on post-op days which are typically 2 days a month but can vary occasionally Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus but not a requirement for this position Experience using

Duties Include:
  • Opening and closing testing and exam rooms
  • Diagnostic testing such as tonometry, visual fields, A and B scans, OCT, Retina Photos, IOL Master and Auto refractor as well as manifest refractions
  • Prepare and open charts prior to patient visits
  • Taking medical history and documenting in the electronic medical record
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in recording patient information.
  • Perform preliminary eye function testing, including visual acuity, color vision, and depth perception, and administer eye drops or medications as directed
  • Educate patients on proper eye care, contact lens training, and medications
  • Assist ophthalmologist with patient examinations and procedures such as lasers and injections as well as minor office procedures
  • Work up patients for optometrist as needed
  • Prepare and maintain ophthalmic instruments and equipment for use.
  • Inventory and stock medical supplies and alert manager to what needs to be ordered
  • When needed, assist the front desk scheduling appointments and answering calls.
Pay:
$22.00 - $26.50 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
