Position Summary We are a specialized, fast-paced retina practice seeking a detail-oriented, compassionate, and experienced Ophthalmic Technician/Scribe to join our clinical team. In this role, you will work directly with our physicians to provide exceptional patient care, perform comprehensive diagnostic testing, and maintain accurate clinical documentation. Key Responsibilities Patient Workup:

Obtain complete ophthalmic histories, measure visual acuities, check intraocular pressures (Tonopen/Goldmann), and assess pupils and extraocular motility.

Diagnostic Imaging:

Perform advanced diagnostic testing, including Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT).

Clinical Scribing & EMR:

Accurately and efficiently document physician exams, diagnoses, and treatment plans in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system in real-time.

Minor Procedures Support:

Assist physicians with intravitreal injections and laser procedures ensuring sterile technique and patient comfort.

Patient Communication:

Educate patients regarding diagnostic tests, post-procedure care, and physician instructions.

Clinical Maintenance:

Ensure exam and treatment rooms are fully stocked, clean, and instruments are properly maintained and sterilized.

Qualifications & Skills Experience:

Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working as an ophthalmic technician or assistant (retina subspecialty experience is strongly preferred).

Certifications:

COA (Certified Ophthalmic Assistant) credentials through JCAHPO are a strong plus.

Technical Proficiency:

Hands-on experience with retinal imaging equipment (OCT, fundus cameras) and proficiency with ophthalmic EMR systems.

Soft Skills:

Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a patient-first approach and the ability to thrive in a busy clinical environment.

Reliability:

Strong attention to detail, punctuality, and the ability to multitask effectively.

Location:

Position requires work days at both Carmel and Greenwood locations.
