The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing excellent patient care and support in our ophthalmology practice. This position requires a blend of clinical skills and customer service abilities, ensuring that patients receive the highest level of care during their visits. Duties Assist ophthalmologists during patient examinations and procedures. Conduct preliminary tests such as visual acuity, tonometry, and refraction. Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining medical history and explaining procedures. Maintain accurate patient records using electronic health record systems, such as Epic. Educate patients on post-operative care and proper use of prescribed medications. Handle administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and billing inquiries. Support retail sales of eyewear and contact lenses, utilizing knowledge of retail math to assist customers effectively. Collaborate with the medical team to ensure a seamless patient experience. Qualifications Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred. Familiarity with ophthalmology practices is a plus. Knowledge of medical coding and billing processes is advantageous. Strong understanding of anatomy related to the eye and vision. Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient care and customer service. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, particularly Epic, is beneficial.
