The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting the optometric practice's daily operations. You will assist in various clinical tasks, ensuring a smooth workflow while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. Duties Assist optometrists during patient examinations, including obtaining medical histories and performing preliminary tests. Manage and maintain medical records in accordance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy. Conduct vision tests and measurements, including visual acuity, color vision, and depth perception assessments. Provide support in optical services by helping patients select eyewear and explaining lens options. Utilize electronic health record systems to document patient information and track appointments. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the examination rooms and equipment. Educate patients on proper contact lens care and other eye health practices. Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Experience Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred, particularly in pediatrics or optometry. Familiarity with medical billing processes is advantageous. Knowledge of physiology related to eye care is beneficial for understanding patient needs.
