Your technical skills will support the clinical team by operating diagnostic equipment, maintaining patient records, and ensuring a smooth flow of clinic operations. This paid position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on patients' vision health. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and facilitate the intake process to ensure accurate and efficient scheduling. Collect pretesting data, medical histories, and current medications to prepare patients for examinations. Operate ophthalmic diagnostic equipment such as autorefractors, tonometers for intraocular pressure measurement, and ophthalmic imaging devices with precision and adherence to aseptic techniques. Manage electronic health records (EHR/Epic) accurately, documenting patient interactions, test results, and clinical notes securely in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support front desk operations by answering phones, scheduling appointments, processing insurance claims, and handling retail sales of optical products when necessary. Qualifications A friendly and outgoing personality with a natural focus on customer service and a desire to help others is the main criteria. The rest can be trained! Proficiency in operating ophthalmic diagnostic equipment and experience with EMR/EHR systems is desirable. Excellent patient service skills with a focus on direct patient care; ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with diverse populations. Understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality at all times. Retail experience or familiarity with optical sales can be beneficial but is not required; strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.
