We are looking for a skilled, Ophthalmic Assistant with experience in electronic medical records (EMR). The ideal candidate is energetic, professional, great with kids and friendly, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment. Strong teamwork skills are essential. Our pay is based on a 40-hour paid workweek even though we work a total of 36 because of the half-day Friday benefit, along with 4-5 weeks PTO each year. Key Responsibilities Conduct patient intake, including gathering medical history, verifying insurance for surgery along with PA as needed for medications and updating EMR. Perform ophthalmic tests like visual acuity assessments, refractions, intraocular pressure measurements, administration dilation drops, Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), Visual field testing, auto refraction, OPTOS imagining. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records while ensuring HIPAA compliance and confidentiality. Assist ophthalmologists/optometrist with contact lens fittings. Support overall clinic workflow and collaborate effectively with team members. Qualifications Demonstrated experience in opthalmology or optometry clinical settings. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology related to eye health. Experience with EMR systems (e.g. Modernizing Medicine/EMA or similar platforms) Solid understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to patient privacy and data security.
