Retina Associates New Orleans is looking for an energetic, compassionate Ophthalmic Technician / Medical Assistant to join our team. We are a fast-paced, positive, team-oriented private retina practice with supportive leadership and opportunities for professional growth, hands-on training, and personal development . In this position, you'll work closely with experienced retina specialists, gain valuable knowledge of retinal diseases and treatments, and play an important role in providing exceptional care to our patients. What You'll Do Obtain and document patient medical and ocular histories Measure and document visual acuity Prepare and assist patients throughout their clinic visit Assist retina specialists with diagnostic testing and ophthalmic procedures Administer eye drops and medications as directed by the physician Educate patients regarding eye care, testing, treatments, and physician instructions Maintain accurate and detailed electronic medical records Clean, disinfect, and maintain ophthalmic instruments and equipment Help keep patient flow moving efficiently in a busy clinical environment Work collaboratively with physicians, technicians, and other members of our clinical team What We're Looking For Certified Ophthalmic Technician or Medical Assistant experience preferred, but we value candidates who are motivated and eager to learn Ophthalmology or retina experience is a plus Experience with electronic medical record systems; Nextech experience is a plus Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Compassionate, professional approach to patient care Understanding of HIPAA and patient confidentiality requirements Strong organizational and multitasking skills Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Dependable, positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow Why Join Retina Associates?
