Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our medical team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and assisting ophthalmologists in delivering high-quality eye care services. This position requires a blend of technical skills and interpersonal abilities to ensure a positive experience for our patients. Duties Perform preliminary testing and assessments. Perform various diagnostic Testing including but not limited to, Oct, Visual field testing, Pentacam, Fundus photography. Obtain patient medical history including chief complaint, history of present illness, past ocular and general history, family ocular and general history, and history of allergy and medications. Assist with patient intake, ensuring accurate medical history documentation while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Utilize medical terminology effectively to communicate with patients and healthcare professionals. Support the front desk operations by managing patient flow, and addressing inquiries. Document patient information accurately in the electronic health record system (experience with Epic is preferred). Educate patients on pre-operative and post-operative care instructions as directed by the ophthalmologist. Experience Previous experience in an optical or medical office setting is highly desirable. Familiarity with medical terminology related to ophthalmology is essential. Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient care are required. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
