An Ophthalmic Technician makes prescription eyeglasses and contact lenses by cutting and shaping lenses according to individual prescriptions. May make lenses for other optical equipment, such as telescopes or microscopes. Works in medical equipment manufacturing facilities and laboratories, retail stores, or in the offices of optometrists and physicians.

Job Description
Duties:
- Perform diagnostic tests such as Visual Field, OCT and Fundus photos.
- Assist ophthalmologists in various procedures and surgeries
- Obtain patient medical history and document relevant information
- Administer eye drops and medications as directed by the physician
- Educate patients on proper eye care and post-operative instructions
- Manual refraction (WILL TRAIN)
- Clean and sterilize instruments and equipment.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a ophthalmology practice only.
- Strong patient care skills with the ability to work with patients of all ages.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
