Overview Join our dynamic team as an Optometric Technician, where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting our eye care professionals. In this engaging position, you will assist with various clinical tasks, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for our patients. Your expertise will contribute to the overall health and well-being of our community, making a real difference in people's lives. Duties Conduct patient intake by gathering medical history and performing preliminary assessments. Accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations. Assist in various clinical procedures, including Autorefraction, Icare tonometry, Eidon fundus photos, OCT, Neurolens, Rabin cone testing, RetEval ERG. Provide optical support by helping patients select eyewear, explaining lens options and providing contact lens training to patients. Maintain medical records accurately within EMR systems such as Revolution EHR. Collaborate with the optometrist during examinations and treatments, providing necessary assistance. Educate patients on proper eye care and follow-up procedures. Handle front desk responsibilities including appointment scheduling, insurance verification, chart prep and patient check-in/out processes. Ensure the clinic is organized and well-stocked with necessary supplies for daily operations. Qualifications Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred; optical or ophthalmology experience is a plus. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and anatomy. Familiarity with EMR systems; experience with Revolution is highly desirable. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations. Understanding of retail sales principles, including retail math for eyewear transactions. Experience in medical coding and billing is advantageous.
