Twin Cities Eye Consultants is looking for an experienced Ophthalmic Triage Technician to join our team. In this role, you'll be an important connection between our patients and providers—helping assess patient concerns, determine the appropriate next step in care, and make sure patients feel heard and supported along the way. We're looking for someone who brings strong ophthalmic knowledge, good clinical judgment, and a calm, compassionate approach to patient care. What You'll Be Doing As part of our clinical team, you'll spend much of your day helping patients over the phone while working closely with our physicians and care teams.

Your responsibilities will include:

Triage patient phone calls and help resolve concerns based on provider direction Gather information about symptoms and determine the urgency of a clinic visit Schedule patients appropriately based on their clinical needs Complete medication refill requests accurately and efficiently Obtain and document complete patient histories, including chief complaint, ocular and medical history, medications, allergies, and family history Maintain clear and accurate documentation in the EHR Communicate with physicians and clinical team members to coordinate patient care Perform ophthalmic testing and clinical duties as needed, including auto-refraction, refraction, applanation tonometry, pachymetry, visual fields, corneal topography, OCTs, specular microscopy, lensometry, and other testing Complete other responsibilities related to the role as assigned What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is comfortable balancing patient communication with the clinical knowledge needed to recognize when an eye concern needs additional attention.

Qualifications:

Previous ophthalmic technician or related eye-care experience Strong understanding of ophthalmic terminology and common eye conditions Excellent patient communication and customer service skills Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation Ability to prioritize patient needs and manage multiple requests Comfortable working independently while knowing when to involve a provider Dependable, organized, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment Someone who values collaboration, compassion, integrity, and being part of a positive team Why Twin Cities Eye Consultants?
