An Ophthalmic Technician makes prescription eyeglasses and contact lenses by cutting and shaping lenses according to individual prescriptions. May make lenses for other optical equipment, such as telescopes or microscopes. Works in medical equipment manufacturing facilities and laboratories, retail stores, or in the offices of optometrists and physicians.

Responsibilities Welcome patients with professionalism, assist with check-in, and provide excellent service throughout their visit Verify and record patient information, medical history, medications, and purpose of visit Perform preliminary testing including visual acuity, pupil assessment, refraction, dilation, intraocular pressure, and extraocular movement testing Conduct diagnostic procedures such as OCT, visual fields, GDX, IOL Master, auto-refractor, and corneal topography Demonstrate knowledge of ocular anatomy, diseases, symptoms, and medications Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring exam rooms and equipment are patient-ready Support the clinical team with administrative tasks and other duties as assigned
Requirements:
