Position Summary Vision Source Eyecare is seeking an enthusiastic, detail-oriented Optometric Technician / Receptionist to join our team. This hybrid role combines hands-on patient care, diagnostic testing, and front-office responsibilities. The ideal candidate enjoys helping people, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is committed to providing an exceptional patient experience. Experience in optometry or another healthcare setting is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person who brings a positive attitude, strong customer service skills, and a willingness to learn. ResponsibilitiesClinical & Patient Care Welcome patients and guide them through the examination process. Obtain patient histories and accurately document medical information. Perform preliminary testing and measurements prior to examinations. Prepare patients for examinations and assist with diagnostic procedures. Conduct specialized testing, including retinal imaging and visual field testing. Administer eye drops and assist with additional diagnostic procedures as directed. Assist with contact lens fittings and educate patients on proper insertion, removal, and care. Support the optometrist during examinations and procedures. Maintain accurate electronic medical records and clinical documentation. Reception & Administrative Support Greet patients and create a warm, welcoming office environment. Answer incoming phone calls and assist patients with scheduling and questions. Check patients in and out efficiently and professionally. Verify insurance eligibility and patient information. Assist with managed care billing and insurance-related tasks. Enter and maintain accurate patient data within electronic medical record systems. Schedule appointments, manage recalls, and confirm upcoming visits. Collect and process health records and other required documentation. Order and maintain office and clinical supplies. Work collaboratively with all team members to ensure smooth daily operations and an outstanding patient experience. Qualifications Positive attitude and genuine passion for helping others. Strong customer service and communication skills. Patient-first mindset with a compassionate and professional demeanor. Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities. Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Comfortable learning and working with technology, electronic medical records, and office software. Experience in optometry, ophthalmology, healthcare, or another clinical setting preferred. Experience with insurance verification and managed care billing is a plus. Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
