Full Job Description Overview:
Join our team at Mississippi Retina Associates as an Ophthalmic Technician, where you will play a crucial role in providing specialized ophthalmological care to our patients. As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will work alongside our experienced physicians in diagnosing and treating retinal, vitreous, and macular disorders using cutting-edge technology and treatment methods.
Duties:
  • Perform preliminary patient work-up including documenting medical history and chief complaint.
  • Conduct diagnostic tests such as visual acuity, intraocular pressure measurement, and visual field testing.
  • Educate patients on eye care procedures and post-operative care instructions.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using Nextech software.
  • Provide exceptional patient care by ensuring comfort, safety, and confidentiality throughout their visit.
  • Utilize your anatomy knowledge to assist in eye examinations and treatments.
  • Collaborate with the medical office team to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient clinic operations.
Experience:
  • Previous experience in ophthalmology or a related field is preferred.
  • Proficiency in medical coding and billing practices.
  • Familiarity with Nextech software for electronic health records is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy related to the eye and ocular diseases.
  • Experience in a medical office setting or retail sales environment is beneficial.
  • Ability to provide compassionate patient care with attention to detail.
  • Skilled in handling medical records accurately and confidentially.
